Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM), a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp., a publicly listed company on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), is engaged in gold mining operations across multiple countries, including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d'Ivoire. KGM operates with a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and holds three contiguous Exploration Licenses for its project in Ethiopia.

The project is strategically located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, within the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently actively involved in both

Purpose of the Job

KGM is seeking to employ a dedicated, experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Boilermaker / Maintenance Fabricator (Mining) to provide a specialized engineering technical service to the Outside Services Foreman by fabricating, assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing large metal structures like boilers, tanks, and pressure vessels, which are crucial for powering and supporting mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Without being exhaustive, the responsibilities include:

Fabrication and Assembly: 

• Cutting, shaping, and welding steel to construct and repair metal products and structures. 

Installation and Maintenance: 

• Installing and maintaining boilers, tanks, and other large vessels that hold liquids and gases. 

Repair and Upgrades: 

• Conducting repairs and upgrades to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment and infrastructure. 

Testing and Inspection: 

• Testing completed boilers and performing routine maintenance, inspecting for defects and leaks.

Power Generation: 

• Ensuring the proper functioning of boilers and pressure vessels that generate steam or other energy sources for mining operations. 

Equipment Maintenance: 

• Maintaining and repairing large metal structures on the mine. 

Infrastructure Support: 

• Participating in the construction and maintenance of surface infrastructure and other essential components. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum of Grade 12th

• N2 Engineering studies certificate

• Boilermaker Trade Certificate 

• Valid international drivers licence

• Willing to work shifts and do standby duties

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience on a mine post trade qualification with working on a remote site being and advantage

• Proven experience with the use of hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
