About This Role

This is a hands-on leadership role at Hagbes, one of Ethiopia's longest-established engineering and equipment trading firms, where you would be the bridge between field technicians and the company's industrial clients. The position centres on keeping compressors running for customers across manufacturing, construction, and processing sectors — meaning your day involves both technical diagnosis and people management. It suits someone who has moved up from hands-on compressor or rotating equipment work and now wants to own a service team's output. The role carries real accountability because compressor downtime directly costs clients money, so expect pressure to be genuine.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The seniority band tells you Hagbes is not looking for a trainee supervisor — they want someone who has already carried a service team through breakdowns and scheduled maintenance cycles, likely in compressed air, gas, or heavy rotating equipment. The mix of supervisory duties with technical inspection and commissioning suggests they need a working supervisor, not a pure administrator; someone the technicians respect because he or she can still diagnose a fault. The emphasis on manufacturer specifications and standards implies familiarity with global compressor brands and their service protocols — a profile common among engineers who have worked with or for equipment dealers and industrial service companies.

How to Approach This Application

Your CV should lead with concrete service outcomes: number of technicians supervised, types and brands of compressors handled, downtime reduced, or preventive maintenance programs you built from scratch. Hagbes operates as a dealer and service provider, so demonstrating that you understand the commercial side — service contracts, spare parts logistics, customer relationship management — will separate you from candidates who only describe technical tasks. If you have experience coordinating with OEMs or handling warranty and commissioning work, make that explicit, because it signals you can operate within manufacturer frameworks, not just improvise repairs.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

Best suited to an experienced compressor or rotating equipment engineer — mechanical or electro-mechanical background — who has spent several years in industrial service and is ready to manage a team full-time. Given Hagbes' reputation and the specialised nature of compressor servicing in Ethiopia, competition will be moderate but the shortlist will be narrow; candidates with direct compressor brand experience and a track record of supervising field teams will stand out clearly.
