About This Role
This is a senior operational role based in Jimma, Oromia, not in Addis Ababa — meaning you’ll be fully embedded in a large-scale housing project environment. As Concrete Plant Manager, your daily focus is not just on machinery but on orchestrating people, materials, and schedules to keep production flowing without delays. It suits an experienced engineering manager who thrives on hands-on leadership and can handle the logistical demands of a project-based, contract role.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The emphasis on experience over academic credentials suggests Ovid Real Estate is looking for someone who has proven they can run a plant under real-world pressures, not just theory. They want a leader who can enforce safety and quality standards without constant oversight — self-reliance and problem-solving under tight deadlines are implied. The need to “plan and control production schedules” hints that you must be comfortable with data-driven decision-making and coordinating with multiple project stakeholders.
How to Approach This Application
When applying, focus on concrete examples of how you improved plant efficiency, reduced downtime, or maintained quality under challenging site conditions. Since the role is in Jimma, express your willingness to relocate and your understanding of working in a project-based setting with limited urban infrastructure. Highlight any experience managing diverse teams of operators and technicians, as supervising “equipment operators and maintenance” requires both technical and people management skills.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced plant engineer or manager who enjoys operational control and is comfortable working outside of Addis Ababa in a project-driven environment. It is likely competitive among local professionals but less so for those unwilling to relocate.
Job Purpose
The Concrete Plant Manager will be responsible to manage and oversee daily operations of the concrete batching plant, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, cost control, and adherence to safety standards while meeting project demands and optimizing plant performance.
