About This Role
This role oversees the full engineering lifecycle of a resort property—from electrical and mechanical systems to guest-facing amenities and safety infrastructure. It suits an experienced technical manager who can balance hands-on problem-solving with team leadership in a hospitality environment. The dual posting suggests Kuriftu is scaling its operations and needs disciplined professionals to maintain luxury standards across its properties.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The preference for candidates from international hotels or resorts signals that the employer values experience with high-traffic, high-comfort environments over general industrial engineering. The 5-year minimum with supervisory experience implies they want someone who has already managed teams and budgets, not just performed technical tasks. The diploma or degree requirement is flexible, suggesting practical competence and certification may weigh as heavily as formal education.
How to Approach This Application
Emphasize specific examples of preventive maintenance programs, energy efficiency initiatives, or emergency system upgrades you led at a hotel or resort. Highlight any experience with luxury amenities like pools, HVAC, or backup power systems. Since the location is Arba Minch, demonstrate your willingness to work in a regional setting and your understanding of managing resources in a non-urban environment. The employer likely prioritizes reliability, cost control, and guest satisfaction over pure technical innovation.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for mid-career engineers with 5–8 years of hospitality maintenance experience who are ready for site-level leadership. Competition is moderate, as the niche requires both technical and hospitality sector knowledge.
