Position: Estimation Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Estimation Engineer will prepare detailed cost estimates including material, labour, equipment costs, and overhead allocations, analyse project drawings and specifications for accurate quantity take-offs, and research and maintain updated databases of material prices, labour rates, and equipment costs. The role develops cost breakdowns in various formats, participates in value engineering exercises to optimise costs, prepares bid/no-bid decision-support reports, and collaborates with planning engineers to integrate time-related costs into project estimates.

Salary: Negotiable but attractive.

Employment Term: Permanent.

Duty Station: Guinea, Conakry – West Africa

Note: French language proficiency for all positions and ERP/software tool familiarity are an asset for office-based roles.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management

Experience

• Minimum 7 years in construction cost estimation, pricing, and budget preparation

Specialization

• Detailed cost estimates including material take-offs and labour productivity calculations; QTO from 2D drawings and BIM models; cost breakdowns in multiple formats
