About This Role

This is a high-stakes leadership role overseeing the entire coffee value chain—from farm to export—for a group of interconnected Ethiopian companies. The position demands a hands-on executive who can coordinate logistics across multiple geographies, including remote farming regions and international export routes, while managing procurement, warehousing, and distribution. It suits a seasoned professional who thrives on operational complexity and is comfortable balancing strategic oversight with on-the-ground problem-solving in a fast-growing, vertically integrated agribusiness group.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The posting signals a need for someone with deep operational experience in supply chain management, ideally within the coffee or agricultural export sector. The emphasis on being "hands-on" and "results-driven" suggests the employer values practical problem-solving and direct involvement in day-to-day logistics, not just high-level strategy. The frequent travel requirement implies the ideal candidate is resilient, adaptable, and familiar with navigating Ethiopia’s rural supply chains, including logistics at washing stations and farms.

How to Approach This Application

To stand out, emphasize specific achievements in optimizing supply chains for export-oriented agricultural businesses, particularly in Ethiopia or similar contexts. Highlight your experience with cross-functional coordination across multiple entities or subsidiaries, and provide concrete examples of cost reduction, efficiency gains, or risk management in logistics. The employer likely prioritizes candidates who can demonstrate both strategic planning and a willingness to get into the field—so mention any hands-on work in remote or challenging environments.
