Job Summary: The Internal Auditor Officer is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes within the International Banking Department. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and international banking standards, particularly in areas such as trade finance, foreign exchange, correspondent banking, and SWIFT operations.

The officer conducts audits, identifies control weaknesses, assesses operational risks, and provides actionable recommendations to enhance efficiency, safeguard assets, and ensure the integrity of financial and operational processes. Additionally, the role supports the organization in preventing fraud, ensuring accuracy of transactions, and maintaining compliance with international banking regulations and best practices

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruits potential customers, maintains strong relationships with existing corporate banking customers and establishes strong business relations with all corporate banking customers of the Bank.

  • Arrange, facilitate, and conduct a timely business and collateral visit for corporate banking customers and try to understand the customer's behaviour, business nature, objectives, and target.

  • Provides trusted financial service advice, within the context of established client relationships and dynamic industry competition, with the aim of retaining existing clients for future business.

  • Highly engage and follow up with the corporate banking customers to ensure they are working and supporting the bank in resource mobilization.

  • Engage in the bank’s resource mobilization campaign.

  •  Facilitates collateral estimations and ensures properties offered as collateral are properly and timely valued in coordination with the engineering division.

  • Ensure that proper KYC is conducted and a due diligence report is completed as per the service delivery standard time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, or other related business fields. 
  • Minimum of four (1-4) years of relevant banking experience, including experience as a Junior Auditor or in a similar auditing role. 
  • Strong knowledge of international banking operations, including trade finance, foreign exchange, and correspondent banking (preferred). 
  • Familiarity with auditing standards, internal control frameworks, and risk management practices.
