About This Role
This is a senior construction leadership post with AMAK Construction, overseeing delivery of the Kombolcha Airport project in Amhara. Airport work is a different animal from ordinary building contracts: it brings runway and apron specifications, aviation safety and regulatory oversight, and heavy coordination with government and civil aviation authorities. The role suits a seasoned project manager who has run large infrastructure jobs and can carry full accountability for schedule, budget, and quality on a high-visibility public project.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The executive-level grading signals that AMAK is looking for someone who can operate with real autonomy, not a coordinator who waits for direction from head office. The scope described implies a manager fluent in contract administration, stakeholder management, and site supervision at scale, likely with a civil engineering or construction management background and a track record on comparable infrastructure. Because this is a single, fixed-term position on a flagship project, the profile being sought is someone who can start quickly and own outcomes from day one.
How to Approach This Application
Emphasize the scale of projects you have delivered, your contract and budget management record, and any experience with aviation, transport, or public infrastructure works, since these will separate you from general building contractors. Given the seven-day deadline, move fast and apply through the stated channel with a focused CV and a short cover note that names the project directly. Expect the employer to prioritize proven site leadership under regulatory scrutiny and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including authorities, consultants, and subcontractors.
Who This Role Suits
Best suited to a senior project manager with substantial large-infrastructure experience who is ready for a demanding, high-profile contract in Kombolcha. Competition will be strong, but the pool of candidates with airport or comparable public works experience in Ethiopia is narrow, so qualified applicants stand a real chance.
