About This Role
This is a dual-function role that sits at the very front of a healthcare delivery operation. You are not just answering phones or managing a till — you are the first point of contact for patients walking into a Marie Stopes clinic, and you carry the financial integrity of that centre on your shoulders. The position suits someone who thrives on structure, can handle both people-facing and paperwork-heavy tasks, and is comfortable working within a well-established international NGO's compliance framework. Being based in Adama means you'd be operating outside the capital, which often translates into greater autonomy and a more direct line of sight into how a clinic runs day-to-day.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The mid-level expectation (3–5 years) signals that this is not an entry point for fresh graduates. The employer is looking for someone who has already learned the hard way how to balance a cash drawer, deal with difficult clients, and keep records that can withstand an audit. The fact that petty cash custody is explicitly mentioned suggests a high degree of trust is placed in this individual — you are effectively the financial gatekeeper of the clinic's daily operations. There is also an implied need for emotional maturity, given that clients at a reproductive health organisation may arrive anxious, distressed, or needing sensitive handling.
How to Approach This Application
Do not submit a generic CV for this one. Highlight specific instances where you have handled cash reconciliations, managed petty cash, or dealt with end-of-day reporting discrepancies — those will resonate far more than listing "customer service" as a skill. Given that Marie Stopes is an international organisation with strict safeguarding policies, make sure your application reflects professionalism and discretion. If you have any experience in health facilities or NGO settings, lead with that; if not, emphasise your ability to follow protocols exactly and your comfort with handling sensitive information.
Who This Role Suits
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys variety — part front-desk ambassador, part finance administrator — and who can stay calm under pressure. Competition will be moderate, with more applicants from the Adama area likely to have an edge due to local knowledge and stability.
