Secretary/Casher (Re-Announcement)
Oromia Environmental Protection AuthorityAbout This Role
This dual-function role blends administrative secretarial duties with basic cashiering responsibilities, likely within a government-led environmental project office in Bishoftu. It suits a mid-level professional who can manage front-office tasks, handle petty cash or payment records, and maintain basic financial documentation. The one-month initial contract with extension possibility reflects a project-based structure common in donor-funded programs, so adaptability and readiness for short-term engagement are key.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The listed educational fields—ICT, IT, Computer Science, or Accounting—signal that the employer values a candidate who can handle both digital record-keeping and numerical accuracy. The preference for diploma holders with four years of experience suggests a practical, hands-on professional rather than a purely academic one. This implies the role requires someone comfortable transitioning between administrative coordination and basic financial accountability without direct supervision.
How to Approach This Application
Emphasize your ability to multitask across clerical and cash-handling duties, even if your background leans more toward one area. Highlight any previous experience in project-based or government settings, as familiarity with bureaucratic procedures and reporting is likely valued. Since the role is a re-announcement, ensure your application directly addresses the dual nature of the position—do not focus solely on secretarial or cashiering skills alone.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best for a detail-oriented professional with at least three years of combined administrative and financial support experience, ideally in a project environment. Competition may be moderate, given the niche combination of skills, but the short-term contract could deter less flexible candidates.
