About This Role
This is a hands-on maintenance leadership position inside a working confectionery plant, where the mechanic keeps production lines running and prevents costly stoppages. Nib Candy Factory is an established Ethiopian manufacturer, so the environment is fast-paced continuous production rather than project-based engineering. It suits a practical troubleshooter who is comfortable owning equipment reliability rather than sitting behind a desk.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The six-year threshold signals that the factory wants someone who has already seen failures repeat and knows how to stop them recurring, not a technician still learning on the job. The preference for food, beverage, or packaging backgrounds reveals the real concern: hygiene standards, washdown conditions, and the intolerance for downtime that define continuous manufacturing. Expect them to probe how you diagnose pneumatic and hydraulic faults under production pressure, since those systems are where unplanned stops usually originate.
How to Approach This Application
Lead with concrete examples of breakdowns you personally diagnosed and the measurable reduction in downtime that followed, because a factory manager cares about uptime more than credentials. Mention specific equipment types you have maintained and any preventive maintenance schedules you built or improved. The negotiable salary plus transport service suggests they expect to discuss terms openly, so know your range before the interview.
Who This Role Suits
Best suited to a seasoned industrial mechanic from food processing or packaging who wants stability and long-term employment in a plant environment. Competition is likely moderate, but candidates with confectionery or beverage experience will stand out clearly.
