Senior Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Engineer(Re Advertised)
Ovid Real EstateAbout This Role
This role is less about engineering in the traditional technical sense and more about the strategic orchestration of a real estate project’s lifecycle. You will be the person who translates high-level business goals into actionable timelines, ensuring that every phase—from design to handover—runs without costly delays. It is suited for a professional who enjoys data analysis and cross-departmental coordination, particularly within the fast-paced Ethiopian real estate sector where project momentum directly impacts client trust and cash flow.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The emphasis on "planning, monitoring, and evaluation" signals that the employer is seeking a systems-thinker who can see the big picture while managing granular details. The requirement for tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project suggests that Ovid Real Estate values formal project management methodologies over ad-hoc scheduling. They are likely looking for someone who can not only create a schedule but also defend it with data, flag risks proactively, and hold various teams accountable to deadlines.
How to Approach This Application
In your cover letter and interview, do not just list the software you know. Instead, describe a specific instance where your scheduling prevented a major delay or where your monitoring revealed a resource bottleneck before it became a crisis. Emphasize your ability to communicate complex timeline data to non-technical stakeholders (like sales or finance teams), as this bridging skill is critical in a real estate firm where delays affect revenue and customer satisfaction.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced project planner or civil engineer who has moved beyond fieldwork into coordination and has a demonstrable track record of keeping multi-phase projects on track. Given the seniority level and the specific nature of the role, competition will be moderate, favoring candidates who can show they have managed similar responsibilities in a real estate development context.
Job Purpose
The Senior Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of real estate development projects, ensuring timely and efficient project execution. This role involves the preparation of comprehensive project plans, resource allocation, risk management, and coordination with project stakeholders to meet the organization's strategic goals.
