About This Role
This is a front-line capital markets position, essentially acting as the hands-on executor for First Addis Investment Bank’s client trading activities on the newly operational Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX). You are not just processing transactions; you are the bridge between client intent and market reality, ensuring orders are placed correctly, swiftly, and ethically. The role suits someone who thrives under pressure, has a strong grasp of securities mechanics, and wants to be at the ground floor of Ethiopia’s emerging equity culture.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The listing emphasizes order validation, execution accuracy, and client priority—which points to a profile that combines technical precision with strict regulatory awareness. They are not merely looking for someone who knows finance; they need a professional who can handle real-time decision-making, reconcile trade details, and maintain composure during market volatility. The mid-level (3-5 years) tag suggests they expect proven experience in banking, brokerage, or a related trading environment, not just academic familiarity with markets.
How to Approach This Application
When you apply, lead with concrete examples of how you have handled time-sensitive, high-stakes transactions—whether in banking operations, treasury, or trade settlements. Highlight any familiarity with order management systems, risk controls, or Ethiopian financial regulations, since this shows you understand the compliance layer. Because the ESX is still maturing, emphasize your adaptability and willingness to work within evolving market infrastructure; employers here value people who can troubleshoot on the go.
Who This Role Suits
This role is ideal for a disciplined, detail-oriented finance professional who wants to specialize in capital markets rather than general banking. Competition will be moderate but serious—expect candidates from commercial banks and microfinance institutions vying for this niche opportunity.
