About This Role

This is a senior commercial role sitting at the intersection of agriculture and international trade, where you would essentially run a coffee export business line from Addis Ababa. Walia Steel Industry is a manufacturing company diversifying into coffee exports, which means you would likely be building or formalizing an export operation rather than inheriting a fully mature one. It suits someone who understands both the Ethiopian coffee value chain and the mechanics of cross-border trade, and who is comfortable generating revenue rather than just processing paperwork.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The experience profile being sought points to someone who has already handled the full export cycle end to end — from sourcing and quality coordination through documentation, customs, shipping, and buyer relationships — rather than a specialist in just one step. The emphasis on market development suggests the employer wants a commercially minded manager who can open doors to foreign buyers, not merely an administrator who keeps existing shipments moving. The broad sector listing (finance, logistics, sales, agriculture) signals they are flexible about your academic background but firm on demonstrated export competence.

How to Approach This Application

Lead with concrete evidence of exports you have managed — volumes, destination markets, buyer relationships built, and any compliance or documentation challenges you resolved. Because this appears to be a new or expanding venture for a steel manufacturer, show that you can operate with limited existing infrastructure and that you understand the financial side of export deals, not just the logistics. If you have existing contacts among international coffee buyers, make that visible early, as it is likely to be among the employer's top priorities.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

Best suited to a seasoned coffee or agricultural commodity export professional with five to eight years of hands-on international trade experience who is ready to take ownership of a business line. Competition is likely moderate but concentrated among candidates with genuine export track records, so demonstrable results will separate applicants more than credentials.
