About This Role
This role sits at the intersection of legal, finance, and business development within one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies. As a Contract and Commercial Manager at Huawei Ethiopia, you will not just manage paperwork—you will be the key commercial bridge between Huawei and its telecommunications clients, shaping the financial and legal terms that govern multi-million-dollar projects. It suits a professional with a sharp eye for risk, strong negotiation instincts, and the ability to balance commercial gain with long-term customer trust.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The requirement for a degree in Law, Business, Finance, or Engineering signals that Huawei values both analytical rigor and sector-specific knowledge. The 3+ years of experience in telecom contract or bid management implies they need someone who has already navigated complex, high-stakes negotiations—not someone learning on the job. The emphasis on "proven success" means the employer expects concrete examples of deals closed, risks mitigated, or contract disputes resolved, not just years served.
How to Approach This Application
To stand out, you should prepare a brief portfolio or summary of two to three contracts or negotiations you managed, highlighting the commercial value at stake and how you protected your company’s interests. Emphasize your familiarity with telecom-specific contract clauses like service level agreements, penalty structures, and payment milestones. Huawei is also known for valuing long-term relationship management—so show you can negotiate firmly without burning bridges.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for mid-career contract or commercial specialists with at least three years in telecom or ICT, and who are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Given Huawei’s reputation and the specialized nature of the role, competition is likely strong but not overwhelming—candidates with direct telecom experience will have a clear edge.
