About This Role

This is a delivery-ownership position inside Huawei's Ethiopian operations, where the project manager is the single point of accountability for whether telecom or IT projects land on time, on budget, and to contract. The job sits at the intersection of customer relationships and internal execution — you are simultaneously Huawei's representative to the client and the person driving subcontractors and engineering teams toward milestones. It suits someone who has already run complex technical deployments and is comfortable with the pressure that comes from a vendor environment where delivery failures are visible and consequential.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The five-to-eight year band and the scope described point to someone who has moved beyond coordinating tasks and now owns outcomes end to end — planning, budget, risk, and acceptance all resting on one desk. The emphasis on stakeholder management across customers, subcontractors, and internal teams signals that influence and negotiation matter as much as technical planning; this is not a back-office PM role. The mention of contract compliance suggests the employer wants someone who understands the commercial dimension of delivery, not just the engineering schedule.

How to Approach This Application

Lead with concrete delivery outcomes — project scale, contract value, budget managed, and how you handled a problem that threatened a deadline. Huawei's environment rewards people who can show they controlled risk rather than merely reported it, so name specific mitigation decisions you made. Given the customer-facing element, demonstrate familiarity with Ethiopian telecom or enterprise clients and any experience coordinating subcontractors, since that is often where delivery breaks down.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

Best suited to experienced project managers with a telecom, IT infrastructure, or systems integration background who thrive in high-accountability vendor settings. Competition is likely strong given Huawei's profile, so candidates with direct sector experience and a track record on large deployments will stand out.
