About This Role

This role goes beyond routine IT maintenance; it is about ensuring the financial lifeline of a microfinance institution remains stable and secure. As a CBS Administrator at VisionFund, you will be the technical backbone responsible for the uptime and integrity of the system that processes loans, savings, and transactions for thousands of clients across regional Ethiopia. It is best suited for an IT professional who thrives on operational reliability and wants to apply their technical skills in a mission-driven financial environment rather than a traditional commercial bank.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The employer is not just looking for a general IT administrator; they need someone with specialized exposure to banking or financial software ecosystems. The implied profile is a systems professional who understands the high stakes of financial data integrity—where a minor configuration error can disrupt client services or regulatory reporting. VisionFund likely values candidates who have experience with system upgrades, user access management, and troubleshooting in a multi-branch setup, even if their background comes from a different core banking platform.

How to Approach This Application

When applying, do not simply list your IT certifications or generic database skills. Instead, frame your experience around system uptime and disaster recovery scenarios. Emphasize any history of managing user roles in a financial system, handling data migrations, or coordinating with vendors during system patches. Since VisionFund operates in both urban and rural areas, mentioning experience with remote system support or network reliability in decentralized environments would strongly differentiate you.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is ideal for a mid-career IT professional with 3–5 years of experience who wants to move into the microfinance sector without stepping into a pure software development role. Expect moderate competition, as the specialized CBS focus narrows the candidate pool, but the stability of a well-established MFI makes it an attractive opportunity.
