Driver (First Announcement)
Oromia Environmental Protection AuthorityAbout This Role
This is a short-term, project-based driving role within a government environmental protection initiative, requiring a senior-level professional. It suits an experienced driver who can commit to a one-month contract with potential renewal, and who is willing to relocate to Bishoftu. The role is not just about operating a vehicle — it likely involves supporting field activities for the landscape program, demanding reliability and familiarity with Oromia’s terrain.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The request for a minimum of six years of driving experience — far beyond entry-level — suggests the employer values proven dependability and road safety records, not just a license. The third-grade or public driving license implies a need for handling larger vehicles or official transport, likely for project staff or equipment. The high school certificate requirement is standard, but the emphasis on residency in Bishoftu indicates the role requires immediate availability and local knowledge.
How to Approach This Application
Emphasize your specific driving history with government or NGO projects, especially those involving field operations in Oromia. Mention your willingness to relocate to Bishoftu immediately and your flexibility with short-term contracts. Since the position is with a government authority, highlight any clean driving record, familiarity with official protocols, and ability to maintain vehicle logs.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced driver living in or near Bishoftu who can start quickly and handle project-based work. Competition will be moderate given the specific residency requirement and short contract duration.
