About This Role

This is a plant-level leadership role at an animal-feed processor in Adama, reporting to a CEO, which means the GM owns day-to-day operations while executing a broader strategy set above them. It suits someone who has already run a manufacturing operation and now wants full P&L-style accountability across production, quality, sales, and people. Wela Agro sits in a sector — animal feed — that is growing in Ethiopia alongside poultry and livestock demand, so the role carries real commercial upside for a leader who can professionalize a young operation.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The ten-year managerial threshold signals that the company wants someone who has already made decisions with consequences — hiring, capital spending, supplier negotiations — not a fast-rising specialist. The explicit demand for animal-feed or manufacturing background narrows the pool sharply, suggesting they need someone who understands processing equipment, input quality, and yield economics from day one, rather than learning on the job. Implicitly, they are looking for a leader comfortable operating in an industrial environment where production metrics, not office deliverables, define success.

How to Approach This Application

Lead with operational results you personally drove — throughput improvements, cost reductions, quality gains, or turnaround situations — and quantify them wherever possible. Because the company is emphasizing both production efficiency and commercial performance, show that you can connect factory-floor decisions to revenue and margin, not just output. The animal-feed experience is a hard filter, so make it unmistakable in your first few lines rather than burying it in a work history section.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

Best suited to a seasoned manufacturing or agro-processing manager with genuine feed-industry exposure who is ready for full operational ownership; given the strict ten-year and sector-specific criteria, the applicant pool will be small, making this relatively less competitive for those who genuinely qualify.
