About This Role

This is a compliance and oversight position within a nonprofit medical society, where you would serve as the internal check on how donor and membership funds are managed. The Ethiopian Dermatology and Venereology Society operates in the health NGO space, meaning financial accountability carries extra weight because funders and members expect strict stewardship. It suits someone who is comfortable working independently, flagging problems, and communicating findings to leadership without needing a large team around them.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The mid-level framing with three to five years of experience tells you EDVS wants someone who has already developed professional judgment, not someone still learning audit fundamentals on the job. The mention of licensing signals they need credibility with external stakeholders, likely donors or government partners who may review the association's books. Expect them to favor a candidate who has worked in a similar nonprofit or donor-funded environment, since the audit challenges in an association differ from those in a commercial bank or trading company.

How to Approach This Application

Your application should highlight specific instances where your audit work led to a concrete improvement in controls or recovered misused funds, because that is what an association worried about transparency wants to see. If you have experience with donor-funded projects or grant compliance, make that prominent, as it directly addresses their likely pain points. Avoid generic statements about being detail-oriented; instead, reference the types of financial documents and processes you have audited and the outcomes you produced.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is best suited for an auditor with nonprofit or NGO exposure who wants to work in a mission-driven environment with a manageable workload and direct access to decision-makers. Competition is likely moderate, as the position requires specific sector familiarity but does not demand a senior-level track record.
