About This Role
This role places you at the technical backbone of a mission-driven nonprofit fighting human trafficking and supporting vulnerable communities. As the IT Administrator for Hope for Justice’s Ethiopia office, you’ll not only keep systems running but also ensure technology amplifies the organization’s impact. It’s a hands-on, grounded position ideal for a tech professional who values purpose over profit and thrives in a collaborative, globally connected environment.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The listing seeks a mid-level professional with 3–5 years of experience, signaling the need for someone who can independently handle day-to-day IT challenges without constant oversight. The emphasis on working with both local HR and a global IT team implies you must be adaptable, culturally aware, and capable of translating global standards into local action. Expect the employer to prioritize candidates who combine technical competence with a service-oriented mindset, especially in areas like first-line support, network reliability, and system security.
How to Approach This Application
When applying, highlight specific examples where you’ve resolved hardware, software, or network issues in a resource-constrained setting—this shows you can deliver under pressure. Emphasize any experience working with international teams or in nonprofit contexts, as cross-cultural collaboration is key. Be ready to discuss how you ensure system security and data protection, as this organization deals with sensitive information about vulnerable individuals.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an IT generalist who values meaningful work and is comfortable balancing local support with global alignment. Competition may be moderate, as the nonprofit sector attracts candidates passionate about social justice, but your technical skills and adaptability will set you apart.
