IVMS (In-Vehicle Monitoring System) DISPATCHER

BACKGROUND

Kurmuk Gold Mine Plc (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d'Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project. These licenses are located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site. 

Employment condition: Full-time (Permanent after probation period).

Location/duty station: Benshangul Gumuz, Asosa Zone, Kurmuk Woreda Project Site - Fly In/Fly out roster (6/2weeks)

THE ROLE:

KGM is searching for a number of IVMS (In-Vehicle Monitoring System) Dispatchers to monitor real-time vehicle movement, driver behavior, and site security using advanced technology, bridging the gap between production efficiency and strict safety compliance. This role combines traditional dispatching with security surveillance, often acting as the central communication hub to prevent incidents, unauthorized access, and equipment misuse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Real-Time Monitoring: Using CCTV and IVMS to monitor traffic, heavy equipment, and personnel to ensure compliant operation.

• Driver Behavior Coaching: Analyzing IVMS data to generate driver scorecards, identify high-risk behaviors, and trigger intervention to reduce accidents.

• Route and Fuel Optimization: Monitoring fuel levels and idling times to boost fuel efficiency and ensuring vehicles follow authorized routes to prevent safety hazards.

• System Integrity & Troubleshooting: Ensuring the FMS/IVMS software is operational, managing GPS, and liaising with IT for network, radio, or hardware issues.

• Compliance Reporting: Generating daily, weekly, or shift reports on production, safety incidents, and equipment utilization.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

• A Grade 12, with proficiency in CCTV systems (e.g., HIK Central, Dahua, Vumacam)
• CCTV Surveillance & Body Language Certification (often via Leaderware or similar).
• Control Room Operator Training Certificate will be an advantage.

Experience 

• Minimum 3 – 5 years of proven experience as IVMS Dispatcher or a CCTV Control Room Operator in security, preferably within the mining sector.

Knowledge requirements

• Knowledge of Fleet Management Systems (e.g., Jigsaw, Hexagon/Modular Mining) and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of mining industry standards and practices.

Required Skills

• High-level computer literacy and ability to handle technical interfaces (e.g., HIK Central, VMS, AI analytics).
• Experience with CCTV surveillance & body language observation and analysis.
• Exceptional verbal and written skills (English and Amharic) for compiling reports.
• Able to work within tight timelines, maintaining accuracy and efficiency of assigned tasks.

Working Conditions

• Work involves a camp-based role at the Kurmuk Gold Mine site in Ethiopia, with a set work schedule.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
