About This Role
This is a hands-on entry point into accounting at a small Addis Ababa firm, where you would likely handle the daily bookkeeping that keeps the business running rather than specialize in one area. Woodinville PLC operates with a lean team, so expect to touch accounts payable, receivables, and record-keeping in the same week. It suits someone early in their career who wants broad exposure before choosing a direction.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The 1-3 year window tells you they want someone who has already done real bookkeeping work, not a fresh graduate learning the basics from scratch. The emphasis on being "organized" and "detail-oriented" signals that the employer has probably been burned by messy records before and values reliability over ambition. This is a support role, so they are looking for someone comfortable executing established procedures rather than redesigning them.
How to Approach This Application
Lead with concrete examples of transactions you have processed, records you have maintained, or reports you have helped prepare - specific numbers and systems matter more than a list of duties. Since the employment type is listed as "to be confirmed," be prepared to ask about contract terms during the interview rather than assuming a permanent arrangement. Mentioning familiarity with accounting software common in Ethiopia (like Peachtree or QuickBooks) will set you apart from candidates who only know theory.
Who This Role Suits
Best suited for someone with one to two years of practical accounting experience who wants stability and steady skill-building in a small-office setting. Competition is likely moderate, as junior accounting roles in Addis attract many applicants, but the narrow experience requirement filters out the bulk of fresh graduates.
