About This Role
This is a hands-on technical support role within a long-established family business that has grown from coffee trading into a diversified corporate group. You won't be building futuristic systems from scratch — instead, you'll be the person who keeps existing IT infrastructure running smoothly across offices, ensuring that daily operations never skip a beat. It suits a recent graduate or early-career professional who enjoys solving practical problems and wants stable, real-world experience in a respected Addis Ababa-based company.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The listing likely asks for a degree in IT, computer science, or a related field, plus some exposure to hardware, networks, or software support. What this really signals is that Horra wants someone who can troubleshoot quickly and learn the company's specific systems without needing heavy hand-holding. They're not looking for a specialist — they want a generalist with solid fundamentals, good communication skills, and the reliability to handle routine issues independently while escalating bigger problems appropriately.
How to Approach This Application
When applying, focus your CV on concrete examples of problem-solving: times you diagnosed a computer issue, set up a network, or supported users in a school, internship, or part-time job. Since Horra is a family-rooted business with a long history, emphasize your professionalism, punctuality, and respect for organizational culture. A cover letter that mentions your willingness to grow with the company and adapt to internal tools will stand out more than one that lists generic tech buzzwords.
Who This Role Suits
This role is ideal for someone who values stability and mentorship over flashy startup culture, and who is comfortable being the reliable backbone of office IT rather than a lead architect. Competition will be moderate — expect many applicants from Addis Ababa universities, but those with any internship or volunteer IT support experience will have a clear edge.
