Manager, System and Cloud Administration-Internal/External
Shabelle Bank SCAbout This Role
This role is about leading the technical foundation of a growing financial institution, not just managing servers. As the Manager of System and Cloud Administration at Shabelle Bank, you will be the architect behind the bank’s digital backbone—guiding the shift from old-school on-premise hardware to modern, scalable cloud infrastructure. It’s a strategic, hands-on leadership position suited for someone who understands both the operational rigor of banking (like 99.9% uptime and disaster recovery) and the cost-efficiency of cloud spending (OPEX). If you thrive on balancing high-stakes reliability with forward-looking innovation, this is for you.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The job is looking for a hybrid professional—someone who speaks both legacy systems and cloud-native languages fluently. The emphasis on 5–8 years of experience suggests the bank wants a leader who has already navigated a migration or two, not just a theorist. The profile sought is a problem-solver who can design disaster recovery protocols that minimize risk, manage OPEX without sacrificing performance, and ensure every application runs securely. This isn’t a pure manager; it’s a technical lead who can also align infrastructure decisions with business growth.
How to Approach This Application
To stand out, you need to demonstrate a track record of successful hybrid environment management and cloud migration. Highlight specific examples where you improved system availability or reduced operational risks through robust disaster recovery planning. Emphasize your experience with OPEX budgeting and cost optimization in cloud services—this is a bank, so financial prudence matters. Finally, show that you understand the regulatory and security demands of the banking sector; a mention of compliance frameworks (like PCI DSS or NBE guidelines) would be a strong signal.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for an experienced IT infrastructure manager who has led cloud transitions in a regulated environment, likely in banking or finance. Competition will be moderate but targeted—candidates with both technical depth and strategic vision will have an edge.
