Protection Officer - GBV Case Management Supervisor
Danish Refugee CouncilAbout This Role
This role is about ensuring that frontline gender-based violence (GBV) response services are delivered with consistency, dignity, and technical rigor in a humanitarian setting. It suits a mid-career professional with a social work or psychology background who is comfortable working in a remote field office like Humera. You will not be doing direct casework yourself—rather, you will supervise, coach, and oversee a team of caseworkers to maintain high standards of care for vulnerable individuals.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The employer is looking for someone who has not only handled GBV cases but also managed or guided others doing similar work. The emphasis is on practical field experience in humanitarian or displacement contexts, not just academic knowledge. A degree in social work, psychology, or public health is expected, but the real weight is on demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and maintain confidentiality and survivor-centered approaches under pressure.
How to Approach This Application
Your cover letter should highlight specific examples of supervising caseworkers or leading GBV response teams in challenging environments. Emphasize your familiarity with survivor-centered principles, referral pathways, and documentation standards. Since DRC asks for a CV of no more than three pages, be concise and prioritize field experience over lengthy academic lists. Mentioning any experience in the Tigray or similar humanitarian hotspots will strengthen your application.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for a mid-level humanitarian professional with at least three years of GBV case management experience, including supervisory duties. It is likely to attract strong interest from experienced practitioners, so a focused, evidence-based application will be essential to stand out.
