About This Role

This role is about operational ownership of a portfolio of retail stations, not just selling fuel. You will act as the bridge between TotalEnergies’ corporate strategy and the day-to-day performance of dealer-operated sites. It suits a professional who can balance commercial targets with rigorous safety and compliance standards, especially in a multinational that views retail as a key touchpoint for brand reputation and energy transition messaging in Ethiopia.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The employer is looking for a grounded operator who understands the realities of managing third-party dealer relationships while enforcing corporate HSEQ protocols. The emphasis is not on academic theory but on proven ability to improve station-level financials and customer service. They want someone who can translate high-level sales targets into practical actions for site managers, and who is comfortable with field-based work across diverse locations.

How to Approach This Application

Focus your application on specific examples where you have turned around underperforming retail locations or improved dealer compliance. Mention any experience you have with fuel retail operations, inventory management, or contractor oversight. Emphasize your comfort with data-driven performance reviews and your ability to train or influence station staff who may not report directly to you. Do not just list sales achievements—show how you achieved them while maintaining safety and operational standards.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is ideal for a mid-career professional with 3+ years in field sales or retail management within the petroleum, FMCG, or automotive sectors. Expect strong competition due to TotalEnergies’ brand reputation, but candidates with direct fuel retail experience will have an edge.
