Senior Agricultural business analyst (preferably with digitalization background)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Agricultural business analyst to lead the analysis, design, and implementation of digital solutions in the agricultural sector by translating business needs into data-driven and technology-enabled systems that improve productivity, traceability, and decision-making.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead requirement gathering from agricultural stakeholders (farmers, cooperatives, institutions)
• Analyze agricultural value chains and identify digitization opportunities
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and system requirements
• Develop process maps, workflows, and use cases
• Design and support implementation of digital agriculture platforms
• Integrate systems such as mobile data collection, GIS, and analytics platforms
• Support adoption of AgriTech solutions including AI, IoT, and data platforms
• Define data collection frameworks and indicators
• Ensure data quality, validation, and integrity
• Support development of dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Generate insights for policy and operational decision-making
• Support system testing, deployment, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Coordinate with field teams during implementation
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery
• Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector actors
• Facilitate training and capacity building for end users
• Provide technical advisory on digital agriculture initiatives

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness or related field
• 5–8+ years of relevant experience
• Proven experience in agricultural programs or value chain projects,digital platforms or ICT solutions, data analysis and reporting
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• May require extended hours during critical project phases

Required Skills and Competencies

• Capable in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
• Understanding of databases and APIs
• Knowledge of digital data collection tools ( ODK, KoboToolbox)
• Familiarity with GIS and agricultural datasets is an advantage
• Strong communication and stakeholder management
• Project management capability
• Understanding of agriculture and rural systems
