About This Role
This is a procurement role embedded in the construction industry, where purchasing decisions directly affect project timelines and budgets. Viscous Construction plc needs someone who understands that construction procurement is not just about finding the lowest price—it is about securing materials, machinery, and spare parts that keep active sites running without interruption. The position suits a procurement professional who is comfortable operating under pressure, coordinating with engineers and project managers who expect answers quickly.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The seniority level and scope of responsibilities suggest the employer is looking for someone who has already managed procurement cycles independently, not someone who needs close supervision. The emphasis on tendering, bid evaluation, and negotiation implies the role carries real financial accountability—this is not a purchase-clerk position. The expectation to coordinate with project managers and engineers signals that the ideal candidate can translate technical requirements from construction teams into procurement actions without constant back-and-forth.
How to Approach This Application
Your application should demonstrate familiarity with construction-sector supply chains specifically, not just general procurement experience. Highlight instances where your purchasing decisions protected a project timeline or reduced costs without compromising quality. The employer will likely prioritize evidence of supplier relationship management and your ability to handle multiple procurement requests simultaneously, so quantify your past workload and outcomes where possible.
