About This Role
This is a front-desk and faculty-office role within the TVET division of a private university college, where you would effectively be the administrative nerve centre for the Vice Dean's office. The job sits at the intersection of student services and academic administration, meaning much of your day involves managing inquiries, records, and correspondence for a technical and vocational education programme. It suits someone early in their administrative career who is comfortable being the first point of contact in a busy academic environment.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The junior seniority band and reporting line to the TVET Vice Dean signal that the employer wants a dependable, detail-focused administrator rather than a senior office manager — someone who can keep the office running without heavy supervision. Because the role serves both students and academic staff, the profile being sought is likely someone with strong written and spoken communication, comfort with basic office software, and the discretion to handle student records and sensitive faculty matters. The TVET context also suggests familiarity with, or willingness to learn, the specific documentation and reporting rhythms of Ethiopia's technical and vocational education system.
How to Approach This Application
Emphasize any experience you have in an academic or training institution — even short stints or internships — since the employer will prioritise candidates who already understand how a faculty office operates. Highlight concrete administrative strengths: record-keeping accuracy, handling student inquiries calmly, and proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing. Because this is a newly assembled recruitment round covering several positions, showing that you are organised and ready to start contributing quickly will stand out more than lengthy credentials.
Who This Role Suits
Best suited to early-career administrative professionals in Addis Ababa who want a foothold in higher education administration; competition is likely moderate, since the junior level widens the applicant pool but the private-college context favours candidates with relevant office experience.
