About This Role

This consultancy involves building a structured training-to-employment pipeline for domestic caregiving in Ethiopia, targeting a specific vulnerable workforce. It suits a senior specialist with experience in both curriculum development and social impact programs, as the role demands designing training systems while also ensuring real job placement outcomes. The project sits within an international development context, requiring alignment with national standards and donor expectations around measurable results.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The bid implies the need for a consultant or firm with proven expertise in vocational training design for low-skilled adult learners, particularly women. Experience in caregiver or domestic work sectors is likely valued over general training backgrounds, given the specialized nature of nanny care. The emphasis on vulnerable groups indicates a requirement for prior work with organizations serving refugees or persons with disabilities, not just standard training providers.

How to Approach This Application

Your proposal should demonstrate a clear, actionable plan for integrating digital and practical training components, as blended learning is explicitly highlighted. Showcase past examples of linking training completion to actual employment, including metrics on job placement rates. Since the bid targets vulnerable women, include evidence of successful outreach and retention strategies for hard-to-reach populations like IDPs and refugees.

  • Deploy structured post-hire follow-up mechanisms and adaptation support to ensure a smooth transition, mitigate early workplace friction, and actively reduce worker churn.

  • Leverage, integrate, or strengthen existing digital job-matching platforms to scale recruitment, automate applicant data tracking, and improve overall ecosystem efficiency.

4 Access to Finance Facilitation

  • Facilitate robust partnerships between trainees and financial institutions to deploy innovative tuition financing instruments, including customized loans, income-contingent credit, or Buy Now and pay-later models.
