About This Role
This is not a passive inventory-watching role. You are the guardian of the company’s most valuable commodity—coffee—at a processing plant where traceability and quality directly impact export viability and financial reporting. The position sits within the Finance department, which signals that your record-keeping will be audited, cross-checked, and used for cost control, not just operational convenience. It suits a professional who thrives on precision, can handle physical warehouse demands, and understands that a single mislabeled sack can disrupt an entire supply chain.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The demand for 3–5 years of experience suggests the employer wants someone who has already learned the hard lessons of stock mismanagement—missing pallets, spoiled lots, or unauthorized withdrawals—and will not repeat them. The reporting line to a Finance Head rather than an Operations Manager implies that your primary value is numerical accuracy and documentation discipline, not just physical handling. You will likely need to reconcile physical counts with system records, manage issuance documentation under strict authorization protocols, and maintain hygiene standards that protect coffee quality from contamination. This is a role for someone comfortable with routine but vigilant about anomalies.
How to Approach This Application
Do not submit a generic warehouse resume. Emphasize specific examples where you maintained 100% stock accuracy, implemented FIFO systems, or prevented quality deterioration in perishable goods. Highlight any experience with ERP or inventory software, and be prepared to explain how you handle discrepancies between physical counts and records. Since the role reports to Finance, frame your experience in terms of cost protection and audit-readiness—mention any involvement in stock takes, variance reporting, or documentation audits. The employer will likely test your attention to detail, so bring examples that demonstrate methodical processes.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for a disciplined, detail-obsessed professional who finds satisfaction in orderly systems and does not mind working in a plant environment outside central Addis. With 21 positions open, competition will be moderate, but candidates who can demonstrate coffee-specific or perishable-goods experience will have a clear edge.
