About This Role
This is a hands-on operational role at the heart of a manufacturing plant’s raw material supply chain. You’ll be the person ensuring that edible oils and liquid inputs move safely from tanker trucks into storage, and that production never stops due to shortages or equipment issues. The position suits someone who values precision, follows safety protocols strictly, and can work reliably in a physical, process-driven environment. As part of an established Ethiopian FMCG manufacturer, this role offers a solid entry point into industrial operations.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The focus here is less on academic pedigree and more on practical reliability, mechanical awareness, and disciplined record-keeping. The employer is looking for someone who can handle valves, pumps, and transfer systems without supervision, and who understands the consequences of a leak or a miscalculated inventory. Attention to detail in documentation matters as much as the physical work, since accurate logs directly affect procurement and production planning. A candidate with any prior exposure to tank farms, fuel depots, or liquid handling—even in a different industry—will stand out.
How to Approach This Application
When applying, emphasize any direct experience you have with pumps, valves, storage tanks, or safety inspections, even if it was in a different sector like water treatment or fuel distribution. Highlight your ability to work under pressure and your track record of following safety procedures without shortcuts. Mentioning that you can quickly spot equipment anomalies and report them before they escalate will resonate strongly. If you have certifications in HSE or basic mechanical training, place them prominently in your CV.
Who This Role Suits
This role is ideal for a junior professional or a recent graduate with a technical diploma who is comfortable with physical work and shift-based schedules. Competition is likely moderate, but candidates with hands-on industrial experience will have a clear edge over those with purely academic backgrounds.
