About This Role
This is a ground-floor opportunity at a bottle manufacturing plant that is still ramping up to full operations, meaning you would be helping establish material handling routines rather than stepping into an already-polished warehouse. The work centres on moving heavy, fragile stock—glass or plastic containers, raw inputs, and packaging—between production lines and storage, so precision and safety matter more than speed. It suits someone with a few years of hands-on forklift experience who is comfortable working in a newly commissioned industrial environment where processes are still being shaped.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The junior-level framing with one to three years of experience signals that the employer wants someone already licensed and operational from day one, but not so senior that they expect a supervisory title or a fully built-out warehouse system. Underneath the formal language, they are looking for a reliable operator who can work independently, follow safety protocols without constant reminders, and handle the physical demands of a factory floor. The emphasis on "timely and accurate inventory movement" hints that record-keeping discipline—not just driving skill—will be part of how performance is judged.
How to Approach This Application
Lead with your forklift certification and the specific equipment types you have operated, since a manufacturer commissioning new machinery will want assurance that you can adapt to their fleet. Mention any experience with fragile or high-volume goods, as bottle production involves stacked loads that punish rough handling. Because the facility is in a project phase, showing that you are comfortable with shifting schedules and can help set up organized storage zones will set you apart from applicants who only describe routine warehouse work.
Who This Role Suits
Best suited to a certified forklift operator based in or willing to relocate to Debre Birhan who wants to grow with a new manufacturer; competition is likely moderate, with the location filtering out many Addis-based candidates.
