About This Role
This is a field-based emergency health role with World Vision in Tigray, where you would be delivering frontline medical care while simultaneously strengthening the local health system. The position blends direct clinical work with capacity building and outbreak response, meaning you would split your time between treating patients and supporting health workers at facilities and in communities. It suits a clinician who is comfortable working in humanitarian settings and wants to combine hands-on medicine with broader public health impact.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The mid-level experience requirement signals that World Vision is looking for someone who can operate independently in the field without constant supervision, yet still follow national protocols and project frameworks closely. The emphasis on supervision, monitoring, and reporting suggests they need a practitioner who can think beyond individual patient care and contribute to program-level quality and accountability. The mention of capacity building indicates they want someone who can teach and mentor others, not just treat patients.
How to Approach This Application
Highlight any experience you have working in emergency or humanitarian health contexts, particularly in Tigray or similar settings, as this will demonstrate you understand the operational realities. Emphasize your familiarity with national health guidelines and your ability to work across facility, outreach, and community levels. Concrete examples of outbreak response or training other health workers will carry more weight than general clinical descriptions.
Who This Role Suits
This role is best suited for a clinician with humanitarian field experience who thrives in resource-constrained environments and can balance clinical duties with systems strengthening. Given World Vision's profile and the Tigray location, competition may be moderate but candidates with emergency response experience and local knowledge will stand out.
