About This Role

This role places you at the intersection of technical expertise and operational reliability within a diversified Ethiopian business group. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical systems of a fleet of vehicles or heavy equipment, ensuring minimal downtime. It suits an experienced technician who thrives on troubleshooting complex wiring, electronic control units, and diagnostic systems, rather than routine maintenance. Working for a company that evolved from a family coffee legacy into a multi-sector enterprise, you will contribute to the backbone of their automotive or logistics operations.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The requirement for 5–8 years of experience signals that this is not an entry-level position; Horra needs someone who can solve problems independently without constant supervision. It implies the company values practical, hands-on expertise over formal certifications—meaning they expect you to have mastered vehicle electrical systems through real-world troubleshooting. The profile sought is a methodical problem-solver who can read wiring diagrams, use diagnostic tools, and work with both modern and older vehicle models. They are likely looking for a technician who can also train junior staff or guide mechanics on electrical issues, given the seniority level.

How to Approach This Application

In your application, emphasize specific examples of electrical diagnostics you have performed, such as repairing ECU faults, rewiring harnesses, or fixing alternator and starter circuits. Highlight your familiarity with common vehicle brands in Ethiopia (e.g., Toyota, Isuzu, or heavy trucks) and any experience with fleet management. The employer likely prioritizes reliability and efficiency—so mention how you reduced vehicle downtime or repair costs in previous roles. Avoid generic claims like “I know auto electrics”; instead, describe a challenging repair you solved independently.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is best suited for an experienced auto electrician who prefers hands-on technical work in a stable, established company rather than a dealership or workshop. It is moderately competitive, as skilled technicians with 5–8 years of experience are sought after but not abundant in Addis Ababa.
