About This Role
This is not a desk job. You are stepping into a hands-on leadership position inside an active body shop, where you will both weld and supervise. The role sits within Hagbes Private Limited Company, a well-established Ethiopian conglomerate with interests in automotive sales and service, which means you will be working on real customer vehicles under brand expectations. It suits a seasoned technician who has moved beyond just fixing panels and now can direct a team while still being the go-to person for the hardest repairs.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The emphasis on precise dimensional measurements, manufacturer specifications, and interpreting schematic drawings signals that this is not casual panel beating—it is structural repair work that demands technical literacy. The expectation that you can produce sketches and read work plans suggests the company wants someone who can communicate repair strategies clearly to both subordinates and possibly supervisors or customers. The welding requirement across all techniques implies you are expected to be the technical ceiling for the shop, not just a coordinator.
How to Approach This Application
When applying, do not just list years of experience—show evidence of complex repairs you have completed independently. Bring or describe specific examples of vehicles you have returned to factory spec after major damage, and be ready to discuss how you have corrected or trained junior technicians. Since this is a supervisory role, highlight any experience managing workflow, enforcing safety protocols, and checking others' work quality. Practical demonstration may be part of the interview, so brush up on measuring techniques and welding standards before you go in.
Who This Role Suits
This is best for a senior technician who genuinely enjoys the trade and wants to move into a lead role without leaving the workshop floor. Competition will be moderate but serious—expect other experienced body men to apply, so your edge will be proven leadership examples and demonstrable welding mastery.
