About This Role
This is not a general nursing post. You are being recruited to function inside the high-stakes environment of critical care—where patient deterioration is rapid and decisions carry immediate consequences. The role places you across multiple intensive units, meaning you will rotate or be assigned based on hospital need, not personal preference. It suits a nurse who thrives under pressure, possesses sharp clinical judgment, and is comfortable working in unpredictable, fast-moving medical situations.
What the Requirements Say About This Role
The emphasis on recent experience in specific critical care areas — not just any nursing background — signals that KADISCO wants someone who can hit the ground running without lengthy orientation. The BLS requirement is non-negotiable, while ACLS and critical care certifications are treated as differentiators; this tells you the hospital values formal emergency response training but will accept proven on-the-job competence. The valid license requirement is a baseline filter, not a differentiator.
How to Approach This Application
Do not submit a generic nursing CV. Structure your application around measurable critical care outcomes: number of patients managed per shift, specific procedures you handled (ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, resuscitation events), and your comfort level in each of the listed units. If you have ACLS or critical care certification, place it prominently near your name — not buried at the bottom. The employer will scan for unit-specific keywords, so use phrases like "AICU," "PACU," "Cardiac ICU," and "emergency care" naturally throughout your experience section.
Who This Role Suits
This role is built for a nurse with steady hands and a calm temperament who has already proven themselves in acute settings. Competition will be moderate to strong, as KADISCO is a recognized general hospital in Addis Ababa and critical care positions attract experienced candidates seeking stability. Your edge will come from demonstrating recent, hands-on critical care exposure rather than academic credentials alone.
