About This Role

This role is about becoming a clinical anchor at a growing private medical facility in Addis Ababa. As a Senior Nurse at New Leaf Medical Complex, you will be expected to handle high-pressure, specialized environments—from the operating room to the neonatal unit—while also mentoring less experienced staff. This is ideal for a nurse with strong critical thinking skills who is ready to step beyond bedside care into a supervisory and quality assurance role. The position reflects the hospital’s ambition to build a reputation for reliable, multi-specialty care in a competitive urban healthcare market.

What the Requirements Say About This Role

The employer is looking for a nurse who has not just logged years on the job, but who has thrived in acute-care settings where quick decisions matter. The emphasis on multiple units—ICU, OR, NICU, and Emergency—suggests they want someone cross-trained or willing to rotate, not a specialist confined to one ward. The “3-5 years” seniority level implies they value practical competence over academic credentials alone, and they likely expect familiarity with Ethiopian clinical protocols and resource constraints.

How to Approach This Application

In your cover letter or interview, lead with specific examples of managing critical incidents—such as stabilizing a trauma patient or coordinating a neonatal emergency—rather than generic descriptions of your duties. Because this is a private facility emphasizing “clinical excellence,” highlight any experience with infection control, equipment maintenance, or staff training you have led. The employer will prioritize candidates who can demonstrate they can step onto the floor and immediately supervise a shift without extended orientation.

Best Fit

Who This Role Suits

This role is best suited for an experienced nurse who thrives in fast-paced, multi-unit environments and wants to move into a leadership track at a growing private hospital. Given the specialized departments and mid-level seniority, competition will be moderate but serious among nurses with strong hospital-based backgrounds.
