Job Summary:
The Storekeeper is responsible for the proper receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, spare parts, tools, and consumables used in the ready-mix concrete plant. The role ensures accurate stock records, maintains inventory control, and supports the smooth and uninterrupted operation of production and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantity, quality, and specifications against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Properly label and store items in designated storage locations.
- Issue materials and spare parts to relevant departments upon authorized request.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records using manual logs or store management systems.
- Monitor stock levels and alert the Head of Store for replenishment needs.
- Ensure all goods are stored in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
- Assist in regular physical stock counts and reconciliation with system records.
- Ensure proper documentation for all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Handle and store hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Support audits and inventory inspections as required.
- Keep the store area clean, secure, and well-maintained.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or losses to the Head of Store immediately.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma or technical certificate; additional training in store keeping or logistics is an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of store-keeping experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or ready-mix concrete.
- Familiarity with construction materials, mechanical spare parts, lubricants, and safety equipment.
- Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and integrity in handling inventory.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving items as required.
Working Conditions:
- Store and warehouse environment; may require working outdoors or in plant areas.
- Requires lifting, standing, and moving throughout the workday.
- May involve overtime during inventory counts or urgent supply situations.
